Environment:  pelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Indonesia, West Papua.
Diagnosis:  The species in this genus possess very numerous small scales with a maximum midlateral scale count of 60 and up to 17 rows of transverse scales; all scales crenulated; lower jaw very pronounced, protruding beyond the anterior border of the premaxilla; eye quite small (Ref. 86256).
Biology:  Anectodal reports for maximum length reach 35 cm TL (Ref. 86256).
