Distribution:  South America: Rio Iraí of the rio Iguaçu drainage in Paraná, Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal soft rays: 6-6. Description: D i+7; A i+5; P i+6; V i+5 (Ref. 79021).
Biology:  Occurs in small streams with light to moderate stream-flow, over a substrate of sand, some rocks and vegetal debris (Ref. 79021).
