Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 8.5; dH range: 10 - 15
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Tanganyika.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits deep coastal waters over sand bottoms; at least to 60 m. Omnivorous but feeds mainly on shrimp (Ref. 6770).
