Family:  Hemerocoetidae (Indo-Pacific duckbills)
Max. size:  3.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 65 - 175 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: East African coast from Somalia (Ref. 75753) to Natal, off Kosi Bay, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 4-5; Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-20; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 22-25; Vertebrae: 33-33. Specimens in alcohol pale in color; 1st dorsal fin black.
Biology:  Three known specimens.
