Family:  Pseudochromidae (Dottybacks), subfamily: Pseudoplesiopinae
Max. size:  4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 2 - 20 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Maldives, Christmas Is., Indonesia and Australia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 27-28; Anal spines: 1-2; Anal soft rays: 16-18. Description: Characterized by brown to pinkish color; pinkish hue on head; fins yellowish with orange or reddish bands on dorsal and anal; single tubed lateral-line scale; greatest depth of body 4.0-4.1 in SL; presence of distinctive "cock's comb" skin flap on chin (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Inhabits coral reef (Ref. 75154). Cryptic (Ref 90102).
