Family:  Bagridae (Bagrid catfishes)
Max. size:  20 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic
Distribution:  Asia: Dian Chi Lake, Yunnan, China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-7; Anal soft rays: 13-17. Posterior nostril barbels reaching rear edge of eyes, maxillary one nearly reaching pectoral fin, posterior barbels on chin reaching branchial membrane and anterior one short; gill opening large and branchial membrane free; skin naked. Last simple ray of pectoral fin hard and strongly serrated on hind margin; ventral fin nearly reaching anal fin and end of caudal fin lightly concave or truncate.
Biology:  Live in the rivers and lakes of the plateau on the northern foot of the Nanling Mountains. Carnivorous (Ref. 45563).
