Family:  Batrachoididae (Toadfishes), subfamily: Porichthyinae
Max. size:  15.73 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 179 - 320 m
Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: Honduras to the Guianas.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2; Dorsal soft rays (total): 33-34; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 31-33. Branchiostegal photophore series restricted mid-ventral, with deep U-shaped apex anteriorly; margin of soft dorsal fin black, continuous lengthwise (Ref. 13608).
