Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Upper to lower Amazon River basin, from Ecuador to Belém, Brazil, in the Napo, Solimões, Amazonas and Pará rivers.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Feeds on small catfishes, insects, decapod crustaceans, and parasitic cestodes and nematodes (Ref. 34195).
