Distribution:  Asia: Dikarong river, Brahmaputra basin in Arunachal Pradesh, India.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-13; Anal soft rays: 10-10. Diagnosed from other species of Physoschistura in having the following combination of characters: body with 11-15 irregular dark brown bars; dorsolateral and dorsal portion of head mottled dark brown; two V-shaped dark brown bars across caudal fin; incomplete lateral line with 70-85 pores; dorsal fin with 4 simple and 8½ branched rays; anal fin with 4 simple rays; caudal fin with 8+7 branched rays; large axillary pelvic-fin lobe; suborbital flap in male; preoperculo-mandibular canal with 9 pores (Ref. 93049).
