Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: tributaries of the middle Congo River, including the Kasai (Ref. 11970), Alima (Ref. 2988), Léfini (Ref. 88782), Tshuapa (Ref. 41580), Aruwimi and Uele (Ref. 41594) in Republic of Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo and Angola. Reports from the Ogooué (Gabon) probably erroneous, based on the incorrect placing of the type locality (Ref. 78218).
