Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-18; Anal soft rays: 23-23; Vertebrae: 59-62. This species is distinguished by the following characters: pectoral with one long and strong ray that consists of two tightly connected halves; uniserial praemaxillare dentition; vertebrae 59-60; postorbital organ 1.0% (immature male) or 2.4% (mature male) of SL; the chin barbel is relatively short (4.8% SL for SL 11.0 cm) with terminal bulb not protruding beyond the stem; internal pigmentation and flat non-pigmented asymmetrically bifurcated terminal filament on its tip (Ref. 125186). |
