Max. size:  16.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-19; Anal soft rays: 20-21; Vertebrae: 51-51. This species is distinguished by the following characters: pectoral fin with 2 two rays; serial dentition of praemaxillare, 4 (5?) teeth in external row on praemaxillare; total vertebrae 51; no blue luminous tissue on body; with very small chin barbel in adult specimens (1.4-2.4% SL for SL16.7-17.5 cm SL); distinct terminal bulb that does not protrude beyond the stem and carries intensely pigmented terminal filament (Ref. 125186).
