Family:  Ophichthidae (Snake eels), subfamily: Ophichthinae
Max. size:  53.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 50 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: ranges from Gulf of California to Colombia, including the Galapagos Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sandy bottoms, between 1 and 35 m.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 23 May 2007 Ref. (124695)
