Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Red Sea and the Aldabra Islands to the Hawaiian and Marquesan islands.
Diagnosis:  Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 0-0. Pectoral and anal fins absent; pinkish in life; eye vestigial.
Biology:  Benthic (Ref. 58302).
