Max. size:  4.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Pookode Lake in Kerala, India.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 8; Anal soft rays: 5. An elongate Puntius species without barbel and with an osseous principal spiny ray. Fresh specimens with iridescent silver body and yellowish fins. Two spots along the lateral line, one on shoulder, one on caudal peduncle, linked by a thin dark line. Sometimes a faint third spot after the second.
Biology:  Known from 27 specimens (Ref. 78621).
