Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Smiliogastrinae
Max. size:  3.9 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Myanmar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in clear streams and rivers (Ref. 4832). Found in standing waters, over silt and mud (Ref. 41236). Feeds on worms, crustaceans, insects and plant matter (Ref. 7020).
