Family:  Liparidae (Snailfishes)
Max. size:  22.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 200 - 1976 m
Distribution:  North Atlantic: Azores and the northwest Atlantic. South Atlantic: off Cape Point, South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 60-66; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 55-59. Specimens in alcohol are white or pale in color (Ref. 6632).
Biology:  Epibenthic; feeds on comb jellies and cnidaria (Ref. 58426).
