Family:  Hemigaleidae (Weasel sharks)
Max. size:  48.3 cm OT (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 1 - 18 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Bahrain. Also from Arabian Gulf, the Gulf of Oman, India, and Sri Lanka (Ref. 93009).
Diagnosis:  Description: gill slits are clearly shorter compared to the eye length; second dorsal fin and the dorsal lobe of the caudal fin have light margins; two narrow black lines ventrally on the snout; long and narrowly rounded prenarial snout (Ref. 93009).
Biology:  Viviparous (Ref. 50449). Lives in shallow water to 18m depth on the continental shelf (Ref. 93009).
