Family:  Xenocyprididae (East Asian minnows)
Max. size:  8.99 cm SL (male/unsexed); 6.97 cm SL (female)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: China and Taiwan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal soft rays: 12-12; Vertebrae: 40-41. Pectoral fin modally with 14 rays; pectoral fin extending far beyond origin of ventral fin; 16-17 scales around caudal peduncle; modally 8 scales above lateral line; and maxillary never extending to vertical of anterior margin of orbit (Ref. 95038).
