Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Pakistan and Myanmar.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 34-36; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 31-34; Vertebrae: 27-27. Distinguished by the following characteristics: eyes rudimentary but distinct, covered by skin. Mouth oblique, with barbels on underside of chin. Pectoral-fin rays free and silk-like; 46-65. Cycloid scales embedded on head and body (Ref. 45323).
