Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 5400 - 5410 m
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Macquarie-Hjort Trench, south of the Macquarie Plateau.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 49-53; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 44-46; Vertebrae: 56-58. This species is characterized by the following: ventral mouth transverse; strongly reduced eyes (2.3-2.6% SL); very distinctive cephalic seismosensory pores; with coronial pore, 2 postcoronal pores, 3 pores in the temporal canal and 1 suprabranchial; head ca. 24% anteanal distance 37-38%, disk 9-10% SL; unpigmented branchial cavity and mouth, peritoneum and organs in abdominal cavity (Ref. 44814).
