Family:  Macrouridae (Grenadiers or rattails)
Max. size:  36 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 1240 - 1400 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Suiko and Mnogovershinnaya seamounts and Dzingu.
Diagnosis:  Head relatively broad and deep with broad seismosensory canal without pores. Branches of the mandibular seismosensory canal, bottom of snout and a larger part of sub-orbital region without scales. End of snout with 2 strongly armed scales and a similar scale near its lateral corners. Suborbital crests of corymbiform parallel rows. Chin barbel small. Anterior leathery lens of the photophore located very close to the periproct and connected to it through a strip of naked skin. First gill arch with 12-13 gill rakers on its inner side (Ref. 33732).
