Family:  Mugilidae (Mullets)
Max. size:  67 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated,
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: from the east coast of Florida, the Florida Keys, and Cuba to the northern coast of South America. It has not been positively identified from the Gulf of Mexico but probably occurs at least in the eastern Gulf.
Biology:  Oviparous, eggs are pelagic and non-adhesive (Ref. 205). Found in inshore marine waters and estuaries (Ref. 50865).
