Max. size:  28 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Atlantic Slope from Santee River drainage in North Carolina, USA to Altamaha River drainage in Georgia, USA; Gulf Slope in upper Chattahoochee River drainage in Georgia. Recently found (possibly introduced) in extreme upper Peedee River drainage in North Carolina.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sandy to rocky riffles and runs of small to medium rivers.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 01 March 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
