Family:  Synanceiidae (Stonefishes), subfamily: Minoinae
Max. size:  15 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 5 - 117 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Oman, Pakistan, and northwestern India.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 10-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-13; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 9-11. Lowermost ray of pectoral fin slightly enlarged and completely free from rest of fin.
Biology:  Found on mud or clay bottoms.
