Family:  Macrouridae (Grenadiers or rattails)
Max. size:  39.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 2700 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: southern California, USA and Baja California, Mexico to the Hawaiian Islands and Christmas Island.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2. Branchiostegal rays: 7-7 (Ref. 36385).
Biology:  Meso-, bathy- and benthopelagic (Ref. 58302). Found on the continental slope (Ref. 75154). Maximum TL of at least 39.2 cm. Oviparous, with planktonic larvae (Ref. 36385).
