Family:  Melanotaeniidae (Rainbowfishes, blue eyes)
Max. size:  7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only on the basis of 7 specimens collected from the Lower Lorentz River, Irian Jaya, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 6-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 11-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 17-18
Biology:  Not very well known, however, 7 specimens were collected in the lower reaches of a river in 1907.
