Family:  Pleuronectidae (Righteye flounders), subfamily: Pleuronectinae
Max. size:  27 cm TL (male/unsexed); 33 cm TL (female)
Environment:  demersal; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 27 m
Distribution:  Northwest Atlantic: Ungava Bay in Quebec, Canada to Rhode Island in USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits inshore waters, shallow estuaries, river mouths and sheltered bays (Ref. 8520). Benthic species. Feeds on worms, crustaceans and molluscs (Ref. 58426).
