Max. size:  21 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 600 - 1100 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean. Western Pacific: Okinawa Trough and the Philippines.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 45-50; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 65-69. Body compressed. Head and body covered with filmy skin. Eye large, circular. Median fins continuous with procurrent fin rays. Lateral line modified ring-like scales. Body color dark-brown.
