Family:  Cobitidae (Spined loaches)
Max. size:  11 cm (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Asia: Myanmar to Malaysia, including the Mekong basin on the Khorat Plateau. Reported from the Irrawaddy River (Ref. 51717).
Diagnosis:  Caudal fin with 6-7 well-defined bars on medium sized individuals (Ref. 12693).
Biology:  Occurs in small, clear, swift streams with sandy bottoms (Ref. 12693). Feeds on worms and insect larvae along with some algae (Ref. 12693).
