Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  6.2 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7.5 - 8.5; dH range: 15; depth range 10 - 30 m,
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Tanganyika. Occurs in the northern part of the lake, along the Tanzanian coast (north of Kigoma).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Lives as pairs and digs a pit on the sand floor, where the female stays in one or more snail shells (Ref. 7343).
