Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: known only from Lake Tumba (middle Congo River basin) in Democratic Republic of the Congo (Ref. 52248).
Diagnosis:  Description: head robust, with a straight to slightly concave frontal profile (Ref. 52307). Coloration: no silvery spots on body scales; depending on behavioral situation, some irregular dark blotches may be visible on the body (Ref. 52307).
