Family:  Myctophidae (Lanternfishes), subfamily: Lampanyctinae
Max. size:  3.8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 80 - 100 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: 37°N-30°S. Indian Ocean: 0°-14°S (Ref. 4066). Western Pacific: Papua New Guinea (Ref. 6993).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 16-19; Vertebrae: 34-36
Biology:  High-oceanic, epipelagic to mesopelagic (Ref. 4066) at 80-300 m at night, 675-1000 m during day (Ref. 58302). Oviparous, with planktonic eggs and larvae (Ref. 31442). Depth range in Psubarctic Pacific gyres around 100-500 m (Ref. 51600).
