Max. size:  49 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Mekong and Chao Phraya basins.
Diagnosis:  Distinguishable by its brown body with a black blotch at the base of the caudal fin; 11 branched dorsal rays; a relatively small dorsal fin (anterior branched rays shorter than head length) (Ref. 27732).
