Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Labeoninae
Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Myanmar.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits large rivers and their tributaries, above tidal influence (Ref. 41236). Spawns in flooded rivers (Ref. 4832).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 20 March 2010 Ref. (130435)
