Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Gulf of Thailand, Sumatra and Borneo; north to southern China, west to India.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 26-30; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 7-7
Biology:  Occurs in shallow coastal waters, enters estuaries and mangrove swamps (Ref. 9772).
