Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish; marine
Distribution:  Southwest Pacific: Known along the coasts of northern and northeastern Australia and New Guinea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 26-31; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 7-7. Body silvery, everywhere so clouded with brown dots as to quite obscure the ground color; pectoral and pelvic fins pale (Ref. 9772).
Biology:  Inhabits shallow coastal waters, estuaries and rivers (Ref. 9772).
