Max. size:  16.24 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 54 - 57 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: Philippines & western Australia
Diagnosis:  This species can be distinguished from its congeners by the following set of characters: 7 horizontal rows of scales on cheek; GR: 4-6 + 8-11 = 12-17; gill rakers short, bearing teeth; and tubed lateral line scales 23-26; 2 scales dorsoanteriorly on opercle. Colouration: Head and body pale yellowish to jade green with a large black and white concentric ellipsoid ocellus on the posteriormost edge of its dorsal fin.
