Max. size:  46 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: south Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in India. Endangered (Ref. 44149).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits running waters (Ref. 4832). Occurs in deeper part of large streams below the ghats (Ref. 41236). Feeds on debris, leaf litter and other plant matter; column and bottom feeder (Ref. 44149).
