Max. size:  39.7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: ParaĆ­ba do Sul River basin.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in large and small waters, in lentic or rapid sections of the river, on rocky or sandy-rocky bottom. Young specimens inhabit the riparian vegetation along those habitats (Ref. 36817).
