Max. size:  3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Bazaruto Island in Mozambique (Ref. 10685), Sodwana Bay in South Africa, and Seychelles.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 11-11. Body brownish with irregular blotches and crossbars (Ref. 2798); enlarged tentacle over eye; posterior nasal tube elongate; anal-fin rays usually I,11(Ref. 57078).
