Max. size:  10.6 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 3 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in shallow, exposed sandy beaches, over a hard substrate situated a short distance off-shore near the water lily zone fringing a papyrus swamp (Ref. 4983). The gut of the specimens which were examined contained recently fertilized cichlid ova (Ref. 558).
