Distribution:  Western Central Atlantic: southeastern Florida, Jamaica, Bahamas, Mexico (Yucatan, Gulf of Mexico), Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Venezuela.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-9
Biology:  Inhabits shallow, rocky areas.
