Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 145 - 250 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: Seamount located at the junction of the Nazca and Sala y Gómez ridges (Ref. 41744), Juan Fernández Is. with doubt about species identification (Ref. 41744).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 220-258; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 148-177; Vertebrae: 127-135. Median fins with dark margins; pores 7-15 of lateral line situated along upper margin of canal; eye large, 19.7-25.2% HL; lateral line system: supraorbital 6, infraorbital 8, postorbital 2, preopercular-mandibular 11, occipital commissure 3 (Ref. 41744).
Biology:  Nocturnal, appears to be resistant to rotenone (Ref. 89357).
