Max. size:  3.52 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Kuamut drainage of the Kinabatangan River basin in Sabah, Malaysia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal soft rays: 5-5; Vertebrae: 28-29. Can be distinguished from its congeners by having the following unique combination of characters: a plain brown body, head plain brown; presence of broad and flat secondary rostrum with folds; absence of postoral pouch; presence of shallow subopercular groove; gill slit vertical; sublacrymal groove present; a truncate snout when viewed dorsally; abdomen without scales; lateral line with 60-64 scales; pelvic fin just touching anal fin origin, adpressed dorsal fin not overlapping level of anal fin origin (Ref. 57871).
Biology:  Recorded from fast flowing rocky streams (Ref. 84801).
