Max. size:  2.4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Lower Oiapoque (Oyapock) River basin, at the Brazil / French Guiana boarder.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Among dense vegetation (Cabomba, Eichornia, Nymphaea) in shallow depths of about 30 cm. Also at the surface during hot periods of the day, where they move around with their pectoral fins only and maintain a bent posture of the posterior body that allows them to dart for cover if they are attacked (Ref. 35237).
