Max. size:  9 cm TL (male/unsexed); max. reported age: 4 years
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.5 - 7.5; dH range: 10 - 20
Distribution:  North America: occurs only in Missouri Ozarks in the USA from Meramec River (Mississippi River tributary) to Osage and Moreau rivers (Missouri River tributaries).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit fast gravel and rubble riffles of small to medium rivers (Ref. 5723). Oviparous, spawn in batches (Ref. 58430). Eggs are found buried in the substrate (Ref. 7043).
