Family:  Cyprinidae (Minnows or carps), subfamily: Smiliogastrinae
Max. size:  4.02 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; freshwater,
Distribution:  Africa: only known from the Orangi River (Grumeti River drainage, Lake Victoria basin) in the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania (Ref. 37412).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Shallow streams and rivers with gravel or sand bottoms in open woodland or wooded savanna areas having pronounced wet and dry seasons; generally in highly turbid water, but also in clear, stagnant pools in dry season (Ref. 37412).
