Family:  Nemacheilidae (Brook loaches)
Max. size:  5.36 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Iraq (Little Zab River drainage).
Diagnosis:  Eidinemacheilus proudlovei is distinguished from E. smithi by having the following characters: caudal fin with 8+8 or 8+7 branched rays; lack of adipose keel on the caudal peduncle; enlarged jaws; and a fully developed head canal system (Ref. 115525).
Biology:  Collected from an ephemeral spring close to the village of Kanishok (Ref. 115525).
