Family:  Syngnathidae (Pipefishes and seahorses), subfamily: Syngnathinae
Max. size:  34 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: known only from the Sambas River (west Kalimantan) and Natuna Islands in Indonesia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  May attain longer than maximum length. Ovoviviparous (Ref. 205). The male carries the eggs in a brood pouch which is found under the tail (Ref. 205).
